Wendy Hunter is excited to bring back her annual Fight Against Alzheimer’s charity volleyball tournament, and this year, we’re adding a cornhole tournament too!

Come hang out with us on Saturday, July 11th, at The Strand for a fun night of volleyball, cornhole, raffles, cash prizes, and raising money for a cause that means a lot to so many of us.

Whether you want to put together a team, sign up as a free agent, or just come out and support, we’d love to have you there.

All proceeds benefit Alzheimer’s research through BvB Dallas.

Dementia Friends is a one-hour educational session that provides participants with practical knowledge and skills to better support individuals living with dementia. During the presentation, attendees will learn how to recognize signs and symptoms of dementia, communicate effectively with those affected, distinguish between normal aging and dementia, understand key messages from individuals living with dementia, and apply this knowledge in meaningful, real-world ways.

As our population ages, more people are encountering dementia in everyday settings, making this education increasingly valuable for families, workplaces, faith communities, and the broader community. Even those who have attended a previous session are encouraged to return as a refresher!
