Discover how emerging robotic technologies are being designed to support independence and enhance quality of life for older adults. This session will introduce a human-centered framework for designing assistive and social robots, along with real-world research examples supporting individuals with diverse cognitive and physical needs.

About the Speaker: Wendy Rogers, PhD, is Khan Professor of Applied Health Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.  She is a Certified Human Factors Professional (BCPE #1539).  She is Director of the McKechnie Family LIFE Home; Program Director of CHART (Collaborations in Health, Aging, Research, & Technology); and Director of the Human Factors and Aging Laboratory.  Her research focuses on advanced technology design to support autonomy of older adults, with and without disabilities.  She explores the benefits of technologies including robots, smart-home technology, digital health, wearables, and telehealth for cognitive, physical, and emotional health.

Join BvB at Gold’s Gym for a high-energy recruitment event where you can train, connect, and learn what it means to be part of the team. Meet current members, get a feel for the mission, and take the first step toward joining BvB.

Join us for Player Orientation, where we’ll cover everything you need to feel prepared, confident, and ready for an incredible season ahead. We’ll review the participant handbook, walk through key dates and expectations, and make sure everyone is aligned on important information for the year.

We’ll also be taking professional headshots for our game day programs — so come camera-ready! 📸

Join us at our upcoming Combine and Coaches Clinic at Bishop Lynch High School. This session will give players a chance to showcase their skills and prepare for the season, while coaches will review expectations, drills, and game strategy.  

Parking is available in the Ruffino Stadium lot. Our clinic will be held on the turf field next to the baseball fields.

Dementia Friends is a one-hour educational session that provides participants with practical knowledge and skills to better support individuals living with dementia. During the presentation, attendees will learn how to recognize signs and symptoms of dementia, communicate effectively with those affected, distinguish between normal aging and dementia, understand key messages from individuals living with dementia, and apply this knowledge in meaningful, real-world ways.

As our population ages, more people are encountering dementia in everyday settings, making this education increasingly valuable for families, workplaces, faith communities, and the broader community. Even those who have attended a previous session are encouraged to return as a refresher!
