Come volunteer at Skyline Care Center where you will play games and socialize with residents in their men and women special care units.
Visit details
There are 20 residents in the men’s unit and 20 residents in the women’s unit. In each unit, about 10 residents usually participate in activities.
In terms of game prizes or refreshments, snacks would be much appreciated (e.g., Debbie snack cakes, cookies, chips, candy bars (no nuts), vanilla and/or chocolate ice cream cups). Or, if you would like, you can make ice cream cones and scoop ice cream from the tub or carton.
*Details to be finalized amongst the volunteer group
*Volunteers should plan to arrive early
*Note - There are hedges around the perimeter of the parking lot and building that sometimes hides the facility
Below are the current health screening protocols for in-person volunteering at Skyline Care Center. These guidelines are subject to change at any time.
All volunteers must show proof of being "up-to-date" with all recommended COVID-19 vaccine doses, and a booster dose when eligible or show proof of a qualifying exemption.
At this time, an onsite COVID-19 rapid test or showing proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 24 - 48 hours of your scheduled visit is not required.
All volunteers must follow health screening protocols in place at the facility (e.g., wear a well-fitted non-cloth mask such as a surgical mask or KN95 mask, comply with temperature check, complete a CDC questionnaire, use proper hand hygiene, and practice physical distancing).
Note: These healthcare requirements are subject to change at any time. The facility activity director is the volunteer’s point of contact/supervisor. If a volunteer has a cold or the flu, avoid visiting at the facility until no longer contagious.
Update as of 5/20/2022:
At this time, only proof of being fully vaccinated (both shots) are required and you are not required to bring a negative COVID-19 test result or take one on site.
Temperatures will be checked and you must complete the CDC questionnaire
You will need to wear a non-cloth mask (surgical or KN95) and practice good hand sanitation.
