4 The Love Of Jenn

Celebration of Life

Hosted by BvB Dallas Alumni at the request of the Thompson Family

Friday, August 16th

BvB Dallas Alumni Association invites all alumni from the past 16 years and any current or prospective players to come throw around at Grigg’s Field in Uptown Dallas, host site of the inaugural BvB Dallas “Powder-Puff” Flag Football Game and Fundraiser, to celebrate the life of Jenn Thompson, learn about BvB Dallas and have fun reuniting with old friends and making new ones.

Participants are encouraged to wear old BvB merch and jerseys, cleats and bring water (as it will be very hot, even in the evening).

After the throw around, we will host a Celebration of Life Happy Hour as our inaugural 4 The Love of Jenn Fundraiser at Stan’s Blue Note for $25 admission.

Jennifer Gray Thompson passed from this world on July 8, 2024.

A beauty both inside and out, with a radiant smile and sweep of big blonde hair, Jenn was always fashionably dressed, wrists full of her signature David Yurman bracelets. Bubbly and bright, with a contagious laugh, she channeled an open-hearted charm inherited from her mother.

Jenn was born to Vickie and John Thompson on December 18, 1982 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, TX. She enjoyed an idyllic childhood growing up in Lakewood -- YMCA Indian Princesses, cheerleading for the Rebels football team, Girl Scouts, dance classes at Miss Cherrilane's, and annual family campouts at Camp Grady Spruce. Ridgewood Park UMC played a central role in Jenn's childhood from happy preschool years to Sunday School, singing in the church choir, and participating in the youth group.

Jenn graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 2001 where she excelled across the board. She captained the cheerleading squad, played varsity volleyball and softball, sang in the Variations show choir, performed in school musicals, belonged to Young Life and National Honor Society, and served as Senior Class Secretary.

Jenn attended TCU in Fort Worth where she joined the Tri Delta sorority. Whether playing intramural football or devoting summers to planning unforgettable rush musical numbers, Jenn embodied the Tri Delta spirit of sunshine and inclusivity with limitless energy. She studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain for a semester, and received her BBA in 2005.

After Jenn graduated from TCU, she began her professional career at D Magazine. She transitioned to residential real estate with Ebby Halliday, later branching out on her own with Texas Urban Living. Jenn helped countless people find their dream homes, serving as a supportive and positive guide. Her personal realtor style was often showcased by Jenn in a pink construction helmet and heels, her faithful dog Walter by her side.

In 2008, Jenn was a part of the inaugural Blondes vs. Brunettes Dallas (BvB Dallas) philanthropic group, an organization of young professional women that has since raised over $6 million for Alzheimer's research. Jenn shone and relished her role as the quarterback for Team Blonde in many annual BvB football games.

Above all else, Jenn's life centered around her family, whom she fiercely loved. With deep roots in the mountains of North Carolina, the family visited relatives there often. After her mother Vickie died in 2017, Jenn worked tirelessly to keep her legacy alive, especially by maintaining Vickie's patriotic passion for the Lakewood 4th of July parade. Her boundless and unconditional love for her niece Gray and nephew John brought Jenn immense joy and fulfillment.

Jenn was preceded in death by her mother Vickie. She is survived by her father John, brother Johnathan, sister-in-law Katie, niece Gray, and nephew John Oliver. A lifelong dog lover, Jenn leaves behind her pup Gus. Jenn will be remembered on Saturday, August 3rd at 11am at Ridgewood Park United Methodist Church in Dallas.
